- Tuesday 31st October 2006—I trod in some dog poo on the way back from lectures today. Dog poo is smelly and sticky so it was quite a depressing experience from that point of view, but walking home smelling slightly of poo wasn’t the worst part of the experience.
- Monday 30th October 2006—There was a man who kept coming onto the Meadow (outside my window, living as I do in the front of the Meadows Building) at eight every morning and using what my intimate knowledge of the sounds of horticultural machinery (one of the many perks of living on a nursery) tells me is a strimmer.
- Wednesday 25th October 2006—I know I don’t keep my room in the best state ever. This tendency has been ingrained in me since childhood, when, as a toddler, I assumed that “bomshittit” (pronounced “boms-hittit”, IPA bɒmzhɪtɪt) was a real word meaning an especially squalid place because my mum would so frequently come into my room and say “This place looks like a bomb’s hit it.”

- Sunday 22nd October 2006—Today is the first day since (at least) July 14th that I’ve not worn shorts out of choice. I have been forced on three prior occasions.

- Wednesday 18th October 2006—This evening I was treated to a cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal and nervous system exam. Most of it could be done lying down, which was good, because I am very tired after a night of listening to extractor fans.
