Last weekend, I walked up to Alexandra Palace and saw something amazing: just as I arrived, the Shard caught the light of the sinking Sun and reflected a blinding shaft of sunlight at us for a couple of minutes. I went back yesterday to see if the phenomenon would recur: it didn’t. Evidently the angle of the Sun is really critical…so I’ll be going back on the equivalent day the other side of the solstice to try again!
