Tromsø is only just above the Arctic Circle and so, as midday approaches during Polar Night, the Sun is only a few degrees below the horizon. This view looks south across Sandnessundet, with the island of Håkøya on the right in the foreground. High polar ice clouds reflect white sunlight, whilst the horizon itself glows a rich orange.
