Climate change
Climate change is big, and it’s happening now.
This section of my website is a call to trust the scientists and ignore easily-misled common sense. Putting solar cells on your roof is definitely a trendy and high-profile way to save the planet…but will it actually help anything apart from your conscience? Knee-jerk environmentalism and thoughtless consumption, which appear to be the ideologies into which society is currently polarised, are both probably some way off the mark.
However, in spite of my careful cynicism directed at both sides, I am firmly in the camp that thinks we need to do something. Something major. And soon. We need to err a lot more towards the knee-jerk environmentalists’ standpoint if we don’t want our planet to be a pressure cooker in a few centuries.
